Hi all. We’re back with another tag post. I’m slowly catching up on tags. I think I’m finally into the ones I got in February, so I’m only two months behind. This time we’ve got the Liebster award which was created for the following:

It’s an award in which bloggers nominate other bloggers for showing respect to their works and their dedication. It’s an appreciation and recognition for all the fellow bloggers out there in the blogosphere!

I received the tag from Megan over on A Geeky Gal. She’s a fantastic blogger and a beacon of positive energy within the community. Her blog covers a range of topics normally associated with geek/nerd subculture such as video games, anime, and fandoms. She also recently celebrated her seventh anniversary blogging. I’ve only really scratched the surface of her blog and you should give it a look if you aren’t already following her.

Thank you for the nomination, Megan!

Rules:

  • Write about it on your blog and thank the person who nominated you, write about his/her blog too.
  • Display the award on your blog.
  • Nominate 5 or 10 blogs which you feel deserve it.
  • Let the nominees know that you nominated them.

Without any further preamble, let’s dive into Megan’s questions.

What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of?

The Other Guys. It is such a stupid movie, but I never tire of seeing an angry Mark Wahlberg playing off of Will Farrell. The funny thing is I don’t actually enjoy seeing either of those actors alone in films. Together they really help to bring out the best in one another even if their best is only used for incredibly juvenile humour.

What are your current favorite YouTube channels?

Game Maker’s Toolkit and Super BunnyHop. Both channels provide a ton of very interesting video game related videos. The former covers topics that stem mostly from a game design perspective while the latter has a much broader selection of topics.

What book(s) are you currently reading?

None unfortunately. I am not a big reader. I think I lack the imagination required to really get into written stories.

What is your weird blogging tip?

Weird blogging tip. Weird. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird.

I don’t know if this is weird, but start writing when you have an idea. Sitting on it forever will never bring the idea to fruition. The only way to make that happen is to actually start writing.

What Hogwarts house would your favorite fictional character be sorted into?

I’m not really sure. Mostly because Hat Kid isn’t a very well defined character. All I know about her is that she is kind of bubbly and helps others. Gryffindor I guess? All the characters who save the day are from that house, so I suppose that checks out.

What was the last movie you watched?

Sonic the Hedgehog. A buddy and I were planning to see it after we saw the original trailer. It looked like it’d be super cringey, so the plan was to get smashed and then laugh ourselves into a coma watching the movie. Unfortunately, it was a very okay kids film. There was not nearly as much cringe as we’d hoped for.

Do you have any obsessions right now?

I am just coming off of eight weeks of Monster Hunter, so I’d hazard that counts as an obsession. I rather enjoyed my time with the Iceborne expansion, but I think having put another three hundred hours into the game warrants a bit of a break before I completely burn myself out.

If your job gave you a surprise three day paid break to rest and recuperate, what would you do with those three days?

Sleep. Cook. Video games.

I am a simple creature.

What is your favorite podcast right now?

I don’t listen to many podcasts, but I do enjoy the Dad and Sons podcast. It’s a video game centered podcast created in part by the fellow who runs the Youtube channel Super Bunnyhop. It’s usually a good time to sit around and listen to Liam, Matt, and George shoot the breeze while chatting about video games every week.

What fictional character would you love to have as your RPG game master?

Gandalf I guess? He seems like he’s been around so he’d be able to come up with numerous scenarios that seem challenging, but which have an easy solution if all the players involved worked together. Plus he strikes me as a wicked storyteller.
