You know what’s an incredibly challenging task? Summarizing a decades worth of written work in a couple of sentences. Doubly so when the only connecting theme between any of what you’ve written is that you wrote it.
I suppose what I can say is that here on Frostilyte Writes I’ve spent a decade sharing my experiences with the video games that I’ve been playing. That includes discovering some incredible hidden gems, unpacking my feelings after playing a particularly affecting narrative, and discovering the many joys of playing fighting games competitively. If that sounds interesting to you then I’d love to have you along for the ride as I continue to cover the subjects that I find most interesting within this space.
Oh right – the guides. I also write needlessly detailed guides about relatively complex games. Mostly as a way to organize my notes on them into a concise, readable fashion. If those notes help other folks out with a title, then that’s even better!
About Steve (aka Frostilyte)
Cat dad, indie game enjoyer, and a vaguely disruptive force at my local FGC meet-ups.
I’ve been writing about games that I’ve thought were interesting for the past decade. My only goal is to share my experiences, and perspective with others so that they’ll try to expand their horizons as it relates to gaming.
I also wrote for the now defunct website Viewport Gaming for a year as a contributor.
Why Ko-fi?
There’s a couple of reasons why I’m using Ko-fi as a means to fund this project.
The first is that Ko-fi allows for simple, and easy 1 time donations. I know money is tight for a lot of people, and the last thing you need is another subscription. Ko-fi providing a 1 time payment option allows you to support my work akin to how you can tip street performers, or artists.
The other reason is that I want Frostilyte Writes to remain ad free. Internet ads have become way too intrusive to the viewing experience of websites with written articles. I don’t want this project to be cluttered to the point where readers can’t actually read anything because 1 of those insufferable tiny ads with the impossibly small X buttons keeps getting in the way.
I also don’t want to take sponsorship deals that affect what readers will see on my site.
As such, Frostilyte Writes is funded by donations from readers like you. Thank you!
Contact
Do you have a great game, and want to let me know about it? Have I already previewed your game, and you’d like to reach out with a review code for the full release? If so then please reach out via email. I do all of my reviews on PC, so please keep that in mind while reaching out.

Also, I’m a 1 person operation, so I can’t guarantee coverage. I will at least try to respond if I’m planning to cover your game, and you’ve already emailed me about it. That is subject to change based on my availability, and how well this project goes over time.
Thank you for your consideration.
